New Project: Careers Search

Career Search is an innovative, youth-led approach toward improving both the future employment prospects and sustainability of employment for young people. It offers an alternative approach to engaging and exploring careers pathways with young people, whilst developing their TLC (teamwork, leadership & communication) skills and their work related learning.

Taking a facilitative approach it harnesses the power of the peer group, alongside the support of professionals, parents, care givers and the wider community in supporting the transition top adulthood.

Brathay North East is  currently delivering Careers Search in Linhope Pupil Referral Unit (Newcastle) in partnership with Connexions and IYSS . We are finalising plans to begin delivery at Seaton Burn School (NorthTyneside) in April.   The programme includes elements of peer learning, youth leadership and community engagement and can be accredited within many existing schemes and contribute to GCSE requirements.   Read more in our latest newsletter Brathay Youth downloadable at the bottom of this page.
